My father's first job when he moved to California immediately after graduating from high school was with Henry Guerin! Guerin hired him personally, gave him minimal direction, and set him loose brazing some of the first aerospace honeycomb structures.
I learned about this six months ago when I brought up the critical importance of the Guerin process and the Guerin was a draft-dodge who couldn't return to France. Could have knocked me over with a feather when he told me.
