Shown here is a Lancaster B.Mk.II of No.115 Sqd, based at East Wretham, being inspected by its pilot Sgt Jolly. This Lancaster was attacked returning from Cologne on the night of 28th June, 1943 by two Fw 190 night fighters. As can be seen the rear turret and its gunner were completely shot away in the ensuing combat, but the Lanc's other gunners claimed one Fw 190 as a probable.
