Shown here is a USAAF B-17G Flying Fortress at Tri Duby airfield. These planes not only brought supplies to the 'insurgents' but brought back shot down American fliers, liberated by the uprising. As you will note during their short stay at Tri Duby, deep inside German-held territory, the planes kept their engines running.
