Shown here is the Douglas XBT2D-1 Skyraider. The BT2D-1 made its first flight on 11 March 1945. The BT2D was redesignated AD in 1946 and A-1 in 1962. Note the original large spinner which was later deleted. U.S. Navy Naval Aviation News June 1961.
