I must agree the "Butcher Bird" was indeed a vicious opponent this late model has extended tail and Jumo in line engine so it has a sleeker profile.These engines were not available until late in the war.I prefer the look of the radial engine models as I feel they have a more stout and menacing appearance.Focke Wulf was forced to design the Fw190 around the radial as Messerschmitt pretty much had first dibs on the in lines.
This particular plane is on display at the USAF museum at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio and is on lone from the Smithsonian.
I was lucky enough to see it in person last March it was truly an awe inspiring site.It was parked next to the BF 109 shown in my other posted pics.
