Shown here is a Hector in use as a glider tug. At the outbreak of WWII six Royal Auxiliary Air Force Sqds Nos. 602, 612, 613, 614 and 615 were equipped with this aircraft. The Hector was used operationally by No.613 Sqd when six aircraft were despatched to attack German troops near Calais. After this sortie which resulted in two aircraft being lost the Hector was relegated to the role of glider tug, in which role they served for another two years.
