Shown here is the heavy cruiser HMAS Australia, in Lingayan Gulf, Leyte, on 9 January 1945, after she had been hit by five Japanese Kamikaze planes during 5, 6, 8 and 9 January. She remained in action providing gunfire support for the Lingayan landings.
