The engineer's section on the flight deck of the Martin Mars.
This station was at the rear of the flight deck, behind the crew seating area. It is situated just ahead of the main wing cross-section (directly behind the bulkhead in the photo), and an access to the wing interior and/or the rear upper deck is to the left, just out of the photo.
Just out of sight and to the right of the photo is the passageway to the interior of the ship, and the radio operator's station (no longer used).
The navigator's map/plotting table is still behind the pilot's seat though no longer used, having been replaced by GPS.
