Shown here are P-38 Lightnings of the 1st FG parked at Meeks Field, Iceland, on 6th July, 1942. On the left is the tail of B-17E Flying Fortress (41-2578) of the 97th BG is visible. In the far distance can be seen a PBY-5 Catalina.
