On the 06.09.1939 the PZL .23B Karaś no. 44.217 of the 41 Recce Squadron took off from Zielonka airfield. The crew Lt. Kuzian - a pilot, Lt. Kardasz - observer and LCpl. Ostrowski - the rear gunner attacked one of the dedected by them German columns. The aircraft was hit by enemy flack battery. The fired plane got back to the airfield but broke the landing gear while landing. The crew survived slightly injured and the crashed almost at the mid of the airfield Karaś, was camouflaged with tree branches pretending a small clump of trees from a distance.
