USS Abner Read

Shown here is the destroyer USS Abner Read (DD-526) after being hit by a Japanese "Val" kamikaze plane, during the attack on T.G.77.1, Leyte Gulf, on 1 November 1944. She took only 36 minutes after being hit to plunge to the bottom.
