Vickers-Supermarine Type 508

Shown here is the twin-engined Type 508 during deck landing trials aboard HMS Eagle in May 1952. A swept wing development was the Type 525 which eventually wnet into production as the Type 541 Scimitar. (Fleet Air Arm Museum)
