Shown here are members of the notorious Dirlewanger Brigade during the Warsaw uprising of August 1944. Commanded by Oskar Dirlewanger, the unit was composed of criminals, poachers, cashiered army officers, court-martialled serviceman and SS soldiers on punishment duty.
