Westland Whirlwind

Westland Whirlwind

Shown here is a frontal view of a Whirlwind of either No.136 or 263 Sqns, that has a black port wing and light starboard wing which was a usual fighter undersurface marking at the beginning of the war. This colour scheme was used by Whirlwinds to provide an additional identification marking for this rather German-looking fighter.
