  • Need a copy of Frank J. Olynyk's USAAF (ETO) WW22 (Victory list). Found one in Canada for $200 but someone got it first. Any for sale, please contact me. Can trade Olynyk US WWI victory list + cash. If you can copy or scan, I need pages for 332FG: 99, 100, 301, 302FS. I can share from Olynyk USN WW2 victories; or US WW1 victories; or USAF SEA victories (AFSHRC). Material is for a book I'm writing.

p.s. - I'm really stupid. I was able to borrow a copy of the ETO list and realized I'm asking for the wrong book. I need Frank J. Olynyk: USAAF MTO Victory List No. 6. since my book's research is for that theater. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have it. I sent your address to Frank and invited him to contact you. Did he?

I'm new to this site. I'm in the process of building a scale model of Big Beautiful Doll from a Guillow's kit. I was recommended to you as the 'go to" guy for Mustangs. I'd like to model it as close as possible to the original BBD. Any idea if the rudder & elevators were fabric or sheet metal covered?

Sorry I just saw this. He had P-51D-20-NA that left factory with fabric elevator. The T.O for metal elevators and kits did not arrive until March 1945 earliest.
RE: "P-51B - The Bastard..." - No, I don't have data to share but am (nowadays) a total IT nerd, if you need help with tables, excel etc. feel free to call on me, I'm sure you probably have it all (and proofreading) covered but if I can be of service I'd be happy to help. Also, I'm not easily insulted, if I've overstepped any boundaries feel free to let me know. Cheers and good luck.

    Hi Dragondog-
Is it possible that you have info on a TF-51D? We are trying to find a OAT part number. I saw in a previous post that you added information on this plane from a manual. Could you possibly help me out? Thank you in advance.

Hi wirelady - I posted info on Dallas in 1944 vs Temco TF-51D in 1951 by serial block range. Is this what you need?

    Thank you again.

    Hi dragondog
A document of 1.17 1945 showed that 4 DB605DC were delivered to LuffWaffe but didn't work well and none of the front line fighters equipped with this new DB605 variant. So, did BF109Ks with DB605DC ever go into field before the war was over.
    Hi dragondog
Is there any data about BF-109G late and BF109K's drag or the the calculation. I've seen a statement that due to the less wetted area, 109G/K has lower total drag than P-51. I don't have any data about 109's drag. But I the sea level speed comparison shows me that's very unconvincing , even 67" mustang Mk.IV faster than the 1.98ata K4 at sea level with much less power.

You can send it to this address : [email protected]
I just noticed that EAS can be used to calculate the total drag, just need some time.

I just posted a reply in the Aircraft Forums
Bubblehead - Jim Duffy was Bud's best friend. My father was Bert Marshall, Jr and was Bud's 354FS CO before he became Deputy Group, the 355th CO. Dad very much respected and loved Bud and John Fortier is my friend.
    Hi Drgondog,

I'm a former student of Bud Fortier's from Dover, N.H. I had him for fifth grade at Horne St. Elementary school in the seventies. I remember hearing stories of the 354th when he read aloud excerpts from his upcoming book and singing along with 'Daisy' and 'Yellow Bird' as he banged away on the piano in the afternoons. If you're the 'Duff' he was always referring to, then it is a pleasure to meet you.
    Hi DG

I cant find the thread even....it was an argument about P-51 losses and victories, which I know is your cup of tea. Argument has blown over, so dont stress. if i find the thread and the specific exchange, I will forward the details

How fares everything in DGs world?

    Regards

    Michael
Believe me, we Mods don't.

Unfortunately it really does take away from the great exchange of facts, views and opinions. It really does...
    Hi DG

Was wondering if i could interest you at all in a small bar room brawl i am having about aa perennial BS subject that keeps coming up in the forum again and again. Its the old "the LW was outnumbered over Germany by hordes of P-51s". Im doing my best but this is really your backyard and was hoping you might be interested

    The thread is http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/aviation/realistic-max-speeds-ww2-fighters-speeds-late-109s-30696.html?highlight=

Have a look and see if you are willing to correct the bullshitometer
