Gallipoli (Dardanells) Turkey 1915 Photo Reconnaissance, original pictures

Hi Thay are very difficult to find now, a friend who used to work for a photography museum in London said "I have heard about these cards, however this is the first time I have ever seen any" I did see 2 on ebay a long time back and they fetched over £50 each, never seen any since. RAF Scampton...

    Can anyone recognize this bomb

Yes so did I (better than Christmas TV) and found absolutely nothing, if it wasn't for the fact that it is made so well and the internal detonator part looks correct I would have said it had been made up as a prop for a film or something. Should it not have some rings welded on? no sign of...

    Can anyone recognize this bomb

Yes I was thinking American, I did find something of a similar shape under the USA. IT has to be inert as you can see right into it through the hole in the end and it's empty, unless the front detonator part still has a surprise waiting, best not to drop it. I think a yellow band indicates a...

    Can anyone recognize this bomb

I got this yesterday from the antique center at EX RAF Hemswell, has anyone got any idea what is is? You can see a red detonator through the hole in the end. The only markings are the stencils you can see (36\SM MK1 MOD3) no stamps that I can find. Could it be an inert practice round, USAF...

Well done, who is going to be the first to identify the plane?

Henley on Thames 18th June 1945 UK Mapping.

OK so not strictly an aircraft picture, however if you look closely you can actually see a small RAF plane. This photograph was taken by 541 Squadron possibly from a Gloster Meteor or a Lancaster on 18th June 1945, for mapping purposes after hostilities ceased. A two day regatta was staged...

Gallipoli (Dardanells) Turkey 1915 Photo Reconnaissance, original pictures

I have mounted them on card with non stick photo corners and then put them inside (copy safe) glass clear pockets. All contain no chemicals to harm photographs, allegedly. They are in a normal binder in a fairly dark constant 20 degree room. Keeping them in an envelope with other photos since...

I am not certain what to do with them as yet. I have sent the scans to The Gallipoli Association and as yet had no reply regarding the actual images. I have joined their forum so I can post them for all the members, however the forum has a glitch that will not let anyone add a new post. Under...

I don't know if this helps, the photographs were posted in 1961 from the RAF India Command W110. The numbering and place names are on the back in English. I have added the last picture above (Anzac) with a ww2 stereocard. Please look.
