DW, I was reading today from MacGregor Knox (1982) Mussolini Unleashed, 23
he states that the Savoia-Marchetti S.79 was extremely unstable in rough air.
He quotes Pricolo's memoirs ((1971) La Regia Aeronautica nella seconda guerra mondiale, novembre 1939-novembre 1941, p.104) in which the general says the S.79 was basically a bel tempo bomber and instabilissime without such weather. Also, Knox states the "germans were so afraid of it they did not dare to set foot in it"
