I found this little gem:

The G-6 / MW 50 is iirc an early designation for those G-6s carrying MW-50 boost, too. The /R2 bird is a fighter-recce version with cameras and MW-50.
And the...
On 12 O'Clock High, I have a Similar thread
over there they say NO U3 fighter model made but part of a recce conversion. Think I've completed a whole circle back to the starting point.
Bf109G-6/U-3 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum
Hi Denniss
This morning I dug into all the GUSTAV performance threads from years past. This took me some time to find.
from the "Messerschmitt Bf109 Chronology" thread by Corsning, post #77 dated 28 Oct 2014
I made bold the passage that likely led to my trouble.
"In the first three months of...
I have a quick question on the Gustav variants.
Here goes, for Bf109G-6.
The /U2 is GM1
I know approx 500 planes were converted, early 1944, for this equipment to be used w/MW50 vs former GM1 use. I understand, could be wrong, that they remained with the /U2 designation.
Then we have the /U3...
WOW, three years and two months later.....
Life has thrown me a few serious curve balls. I'll omit the details at this juncture. Let me say I have been quite busy.
On the fun side of things, I have been painting WW2 stuff in 15mm and 28mm, Bolt Action and more recently Chain of Command...
Quite the thread....it won't die and covers a multitude of ideas! It has been quite some time since I've been on WW2AC, I remember this thread when I last dropped in.
I find it interesting that the US Army would not change from .30-06 to .276 for the Garand yet come up with an entirely new...
I was discussing this raid with brother John the other day. His pal Scott was saying Jan '44 that the LW was spent. Brother John was saying no, not the case. Before even looking up the mission, I told John that the LW was probably not in the Greatest shape then but they were far from down and...
Thanks GLIDER!

not looking for WAR AND PEACE epic here, something realistic yet quick like you describe
Parsifal
Google "War Thunder Bf109G-14"

I played a lot of Air Force/Dauntless late 70s early 80s, old Battleline version, not...

Will try to put all the new info to use

Yes, hit# 61 vs a 6+1 = 7 hit
thing with that, you'll be off looking at charts. WTF is hit #61? (LOL) I have seen this in naval wargames
possible but looking for quick results
One option would be to somehow...
Parsifal,
Good points....
I was trying to not do individual guns except the 30mm and 37mm stuff but nothing has been set in concrete yet
30mm would be a d10 per hit; more chances to hit a bomber at close range than a fighter at medium range
one can do a d12 and every result has the same chance...
Kryten,
This is one of those interesting issues like comparative firepower!
re pods, change in mph during German testing is on the KURFURST website. Pretty hard data.
re pods, effect on maneuverability, some disagreement! No sources to quote at the moment but my recollection varies from Little...
thanks for the remarks so far! Keep them coming
I was calculating .50 cal at one point each so
8 pts for the P-47, 6 pts for P-51D/K, 4 pts for P-51B/C
above the P-47 would use an 8-sided die, the P-51D a six side die, the P-51B a 4-side die
For the LW, was working with a 13mm being 1pt...
