Greg of Auto and Airplanes has asked for a Debate

He seems to have agreed to the terms of his channel, all but posted this was the forthcoming debate in his community section. Now my most anticipated YouTube video haha.

Greg of Auto and Airplanes has asked for a Debate

Been looking out for your series, NGL. Glad to hear it's still coming. Paul Woodage at WW2TV might be another to reach out to, he's got a good system. I'll start checking Flight Line Media out, thanks.

Thus far he says he hasn't gotten anything, and to email him at "[email protected]."

Greg of Auto and Airplanes has asked for a Debate

Might be worth pushing for live, or at least ensuring both sides are recording the whole time to ensure no shenanigans

Wilco. This is why you're my favorite historian.

Greg of Auto and Airplanes has asked for a Debate

If you go to his page, it's the top link of his "Community" section, here: https://www.youtube.com/@GregsAirplanesandAutomobiles/community IIRC he crapped on drgondog? I think there were a few others. My hunch is he'll delete the comments of challengers 😂.

Greg of Auto and Airplanes has asked for a Debate

That includes his infamous "P-47 #6: Range, Deceit, and Treachery" video. He is arguing that the only reason the P-47 didn't have the range to escort was political. Says he'll only debate someone credentialed or another YouTuber. Not sure if it's a genuine proposal or just to placate his fans...

    What are reliable YouTube sources?

Should avoid Greg. Best sources out there are WW2TV, as he gets content directly from the historians themselves. Pretty good aviation section. MilAvHist and WW2USBombers are both good. Rex decent. Other than that....

    8th AF bombing

As others have added above, you can certainly critique the data methodology but none of what's posted indicates data that was adjusted to push a certain slant.

    8th AF bombing

It would be, if that chart existed in isolation. It does not. The USSBS alone is over a thousand pages. Between wartime analysis and other official USG studies it's at least in the tens of thousands. This chart is data analysis that exists within a greater context that is not posted here...

    8th AF bombing

Hence my point, it was operationally significant and they did track it. You're just not seeing it on the posted chart. It's out of context, specifically applicable to a previous question not your point. You can find "Mission Failure" data out there as well. It isn't posted that way to somehow...

    8th AF bombing

The reason was to determine improvements. When the miss deviation was that large, the cause of the error was something outside the value of comparing successful raids. If you read the USSBS you can see they very much do care, track, and analyze the causes and percentages for raids that fall into...

    8th AF bombing

Was there something that made H2X use inherently less accurate than RAF H2S? Or are you comparing RAF blind bombing like Gee/Oboe etc?

Another 'Gem' from Greg - just released.

I was able to have a direct conversation with Caliban on his P-51 video where he explicitly tells people to watch Greg's legendary range video. I give him credit for being willing to listen but it hasn't been enough for him to fix it or release a correction (that I've seen).

Possibly the Worst Aviation "History" Video I've Encountered

If you're ever wanting to double check on if someone is deleting yours or others comments, there's a website called "YouTube Comment Finder" that makes it very easy to check with minimal scrolling.
