BF-100 with radial engines (like BMW 801)?

Did WW2 Germany ever mount radial engines (like the BMW 801) to the Bf-110? As I would assume it would have increased performance.

Was the DB605 (35 liter) engine ever mounted on the FW-190?

Was wondering if the DB605 engine was ever mounted on the FW-190? (before the Jumo 213 was thought of?) Seems like an easy way to add a 20mm or 30mm cannon to the FW-190, while reducing drag. Making the FW-190 better at shooting down 4 engine heavy bombers.

German workshops specialized in British & American radial engines?

My two cents. I would have assumed when an allied four engine bomber goes down in Axis territory, its parts are melted down to make Bf-109s and FW-190s. I would think the radial engines used on the B-17s and B-24s would not be powerful enough for use on German fighter and two engine bombers...

P-51 Mustang (A-36 Apache), time it took to design?

When NAA (North American Aviation) told the British that the A-36 Mustang/Apache prototype (NA-73X) could be built in only 120 days, but it took only 102, which is cool. But was the NA-73X already being designed, by NAA, before the British approached them (when the British had first asked NAA to...

JU-87 Stuka vs A36 Apache, which was the better dive bomber?

The A-36 Apache and Ju-87 Stuka were dive bombers, how did they compare? Which could get the bomb closer to the target?

Did radial engines on WW2 fighters help at all to warm up cockpits?

Did radial engines, like the R-2800 on the P-47, help at all to keep the pilot warm at those higher altitudes?

Switching engines on the P-47, to lighten the plane.

Guess it would have not saved a lot of weight, but it would have left a lot of room for another gas tank.

Switching engines on the P-47, to lighten the plane.

The P-47's 2800 WASP engine used a large turbocharger and used long ducting to feed that turbocharger. If you put the 2800 WASP (supercharged) engine that was used in the F4U Corsair, into the P-47, how much weight could have been saved?

    Spitfire V Versus P-40E

I just assumed the Merlin was dual overhead cam, but never thought to check that fact out. (As the merlin was said to have more parts)

    Spitfire V Versus P-40E

What was the cost to manufacture the Allison V-12 vs the Merlin V-12? I heard the Merlin used almost twice as many parts, compared to the Allison?

Hawker Hurricane and de Havilland Mosquito both used a lot of wood, but would assume they were built differently?

The Hurricane and Mosquito both used a lot of wood in their construction, but would assume they were built differently? Any know the differently in their building techniques?
