This work presents sixteen concise biographies of the pilots who flew the Doolittle Raid, the first U.S. air attack on Japan in April 1942. Drawing on primary sources and historical research, it explores their backgrounds, training, and wartime experiences.
I'm an amateur historian with a particular focus on the Second World War, I experienced a brain haemorrhage in April 2022. Encouraged by my doctors to remain mentally active as part of his cognitive rehabilitation, he turned to a subject that had long held his interest — the Doolittle Raid of 18 April 1942.
