The only successful installation of a woodgas generator on 1939 2 seat Swiss aircraft Comte AC-4 Gentleman with 115 hp Air-cooled 4-cylinder inline piston engine.
At steady cruise speed of approximately 110 mph airplane used 34kg/75 lbs of charcoal per hour. Fuel storage was sufficient for up to 4 hours of flight.
