Hello everyone,

I'm based in Norfolk, England, and have been flying from Tibenham airfield for many years. My involvement with the airfield's wartime history led to a particular interest in the USAAF 445th Bomb Group, which operated B-24 Liberators from Tibenham during the Second World War.

Over the years I've accumulated a considerable amount of research, photographs, crew records and mission information relating to the Group.

I've recently put much of this material together in a new free website, www.445th.com, which includes a searchable database of missions, aircraft and personnel, together with crew photographs, aircraft histories and archive material.

The website is freely available to anyone interested in the Eighth Air Force, B-24 operations or researching relatives who served with the 445th.

I'd be very pleased to hear from anyone with an interest in the Group, particularly those who may have additional photographs, documents or personal accounts to share.

I understand that this site gets a little commission from Amazon, so here is the Amazon link to my new book Hostile Skies and Empty Tables
for the UK version:-

For te USA version:-

Welcome from north west England.
I spend most of the summer months (off and on) at Scole/Diss, and a friend there is about to return to flying, at Tibenham, which I believe now hosts powered flight alongside the gliding activities.
I've been working on a 1/48th scale diorama of Jimmy Stewart's B-24 from his other Group, at Old Buckenham, although this has stalled due to arthritis.
