I wondered if forum members might be able to help me identify please a wheel that I believe came from a WWII aircraft. I've attached a couple of photos, one of each side.

On the outside face of the wheel is the following serial number: K155301/7.

The tyre is a Dunlop 27 x 6.00 - 15.

The wheel, excluding the tyre, has an outside diameter of 16.5 inches.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank-you.

Regards,
Richard

The nearest I can think of, just going off the style of the wheel, is perhaps an Airspeed Oxford, although I don't know if the size matches. It seems about right, but can't be certain.

Thank-you for this. I've today pressure-washed the wheel, and have the following expanded/corrected information:

On the wheel:
Serial Number K155507/7
DRG Number AH 50268 Issue 2

On the tyre:
27 x 6.00 - 15
In a cartouche: 27A 2576
In a cartouche: DR 0920 Issue 5

Many thanks,
Richard

Hi,
If this helps, not Oxford as rear inner is 4.00 x 3 1/2
27A/2576 is given as:
COVERS, Outer- 27-6.00-15 in. Dunlop DR.0920, Firestone ZA.75, Goodyear GA.1201
Marked as Obsolescent by 1964

Aircraft type still eludes me but still looking as AH 50268 is not in my list

Cheers,
Bobby

That's really helpful Bobby, thank-you. We're edging towards it I think.

Regards,
Richard
