"The Eco Caravan reduces fuel consumption and emissions by up to 70%. Emissions are near zero when using sustainable aviation fuel. Cost of operation is reduced by 25 to 40 percent depending on airline route structure. Cost per available seat mile is near that of driving."
I understand how hybrid automobiles work. It is not obvious to me how you apply the same idea to an airplane, which has to use an significantly high power level at all times, rather that spurts of power and then reduced output while cruising, like a car. Oh, and that big bulge along the belly? That's the batteries.
