I am not sure if this is the place to ask but I am looking for pictures of or similar to the Avro Lancaster BI ME798 that went down in June of 1944. I would also love to see photo(s) of the crew of they are out there somewhere.

I am interested in pictures for well... special reasons but I would also like to build an accurate model of the ME798 VN-Z with correct markings etc.

Thank you in advance Daniel McRann

Hi,

I saw your post and wondered if you ever did find any info you were after - and specifically wondered if you were after info about Peter Mcrann from ME798?

Tim

Hi Tim,
Just wondering if you had any information about Peter McRann, a cew member on ME798? If so, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Thanks.
Hi - really sorry for seemingly vanishing.. but yes.. Peter was my Grandfather's Brother! Hopefully I haven't completely missed you here.. drop me a line!

Desmond here. Thanks so much for messaging me. The father of RAF Sgt Peter McRann, also called Peter, was my mother's uncle. My maternal grandfather Patrick McRann was a brother of Peter McRann Senior. So RAF Sgt Peter McRann was my mother's first cousin. I am very interested in learning more about him, such as why he may have joined the RAF. And a photo of him or indeed any further information would be most welcome! Thanks.

Hi! I think those names all check out - if it's the same Peter (junior) then my own Grandfather was also in the RAF as a tail-end Charlie in Lancasters.
