I'm doing research on the crash landing of a B-25H of the 418th NFS in July 1944 on the Vogelkop peninsula. The four man crew were rescued after a three week daring rescue mission, far behind enemy lines. As I couldn't find any good pictures of the B-25H with the 418th, I had through a friend have an artist impression done by the Polish aviation artist Zbigniew Kolacha. More info on this crash and rescue at airwarnewguinea.com

Has anyone more info on these B-25's, any good pictures of them and/or in the 418th? The s/n was: 43-4422

I do have some.
The profile is wrong they had no black painted B-25H's regardless of what any book says. I had been in contact with a couple of members who have since passed. Here are the photos. The colour images depending on who you spoke to thought that this was the squadron hack after the B-25's were done away with others say its was before the striped tail markings were added. http://www.417th-nightfighters.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/History418NFS.pdf
