Least people misunderstand the concept of "lightweight, portable", each of the 10 individual packages that make up the total system weigh in the 200 - 300 lbs (90 - 140 kg) ranges. The total weight of the radar, when assembled, is well over a ton.

I never worked with the 1B myself, but I did work with the TPS-1D, a slightly updated, post WW II, version.
