Book has not been published yet as the author is still finalising his writing.

Lynn Ritger has been answering questions about his upcoming book at the britmodeller forum in the past weeks.

On 23 October he wrote there about the possible release date: "Early 2026 would be the most likely timeframe given all that's going on".

For more details see: new book on MESSERSCHMITT BF 109 - ORIGINS AND EVOLUTION By Lynn Ritger

Thanks for the linky there! Reading the situation, looks like maybe another year to wait.

Yes, Do get it and read it, you can get it new in US for $40 delivered.
However, TSHR is a book that majors on the technical developments, materials, people and politics that led to increasing horsepower output of Western aero-engines leading into
and through WW2. TSHR is not really a technical description or a complete analysis of any particular engine, although there is an astounding depth of technology and development strengths and weaknesses explained in unrivalled clarity and accuracy. But, it is not a comparison volume of engine manuals.
I think, for many people, there is still a big space for books to be written about WW2 aero-engines that go far deeper into the details of design, development, function and performance of engine families, and here I am thinking of Merlin, Griffon, DB 601/605, BMW 801 etc. This style of book might be made interesting enough to be commercially successful, but so far publishers have been shy of seeing good sales on such pure technical volumes.
Anyway, if you are interested in WW2 Western aero-engine tech, get Calums book!

Hi
Other engine books that are 'technical', sadly only 'Allied' (USA/UK) engines include the following:

However, these are not cheap!

I would be interested in these. Yes, unfortunately, they are expensive. The reviews don't seem to show how technical they are.
Calum did extremely well to get his book The Secret Horsepower Race on bookshelves at £35 or less and that is a real feat that puts TSHR on many peoples Christmas lists!
Unfortunately, Calum could not get his Superb co-authored Turbo/Supercharger Compressors and Turbines for Aircraft Propulsion in WWII (TSCT) published main-stream and so it
is limited availability from AMSE press only, not cheap, but a unmissable book if you need to really know about Compressors!

Hi
Some sample pages of the publications;
'Building Engines for War':

And from 'Allied Aircraft Piston Engines of World War II':

I hope that is of help.

You might be interested in Calums' book TSCT. It is primarily based on Prof Dr-Ing. Karl Kollmann's papers, all translated and expanded with explanation.
It is very important really, as Supercharging was a primary feature of all high output aero-engines.
Although the book is mostly based on German work, it does apply to all superchargers and contains many comparisons with Allied supercharging.
Despite the depth of theory and some Mathematics, the book is readable and understandable to a non-specialist, which I think is a great achievement. So, if
you are interested in the subject, you do not need to apply the maths to understand the concepts that are presented.

I attach a pic of the book cover and a page of the index, the book runs to 368 pages. Available from ASME Press, NY.

Cheers

Also available on amazon .com or .co.uk or .de or .nl

Yes, and others. ASME are the publisher and you can buy from many outlets.
Price seems to be about £105 in UK now. Not cheap, but a unique book. I do find that it is a great companion to The Secret Horsepower Race, giving a duet of information
for about £140.
Unsurpassed.
