Hello guys,
my name is Frank and I'm from the middle of Germany.
I'm new to this forum, but I've been dealing with plane crashes in my home country for a while.
I am currently trying to help a 70-year-old gentleman to find where his uncle crashed.
Is there anyone who can identify this part? It was on what I consider to be the crash site, it was supposed to belong to a Bf 110.
Best Regards,
Frank

Welcome.

Not an inspection hatch for fuselage. Bolts are making that clear.
The red material on pic 3 is that paint?

Thank you for your Welcome.

There are remains of black paint on the part. The blocks inside are copper, maybe the screws too. Underneath the copper blocks is some sort of insulator.

Best Regards
Frank

Yes, in my opinion it should be part of the electrical system. But it's also possible that it's some kind of junk unrelated to the plane.
