Dear all
Depending on which books are read, there appear to be two main sizes of fuel drop tanks for the above plane. 220 litres and 900 litres. Both were used as a counter to the relatively poor range of the plane. In addition, I have seen pictures of a single tank placed underneath the fuselage. (Though not a dauclesbach)
Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence of the larger under wing tanks? It would seem to me that strapping well over half a ton of fuel to each wing, wing tip side of each engine, must have had an enormous bearing on performance?
Thank you.
