Just looking for info on this engine project, i have found that the previous 804 had a 160x160 cylinder and capacity of 45.9 litres.

But is there any info as to the bore/stroke of the 805? I've seen it described in an older topic here as having bit bigger displacement compared to the 801, which seems to imply it's different from the 804.

Many thanks.

While casually going over the BMW-801 wiki, i found the following added for BMW-804 and BMW-805:

The BMW 804 was similar to the BMW 801, but it had increased stroke and bore, which increased the displacement from 41.8 liters to 45.5 liters. The takeoff-rating would have been 2000 PS with a single-stage supercharger.

The BMW 805 was also similar to the BMW 801, but with a two-stage, four-speed supercharger. The 805 would also had increased revolutions (2900/min) and other improvements, like a new cranckcase (for the increased revs) and bigger valves. The takeoff-rating would have been 2400 PS with a 12000 meters critical altitude.

Has anyone came over any additional info on these engines meanwhile, such as the timescale?

I saw a mention of it being from 1944 but can't confirm

Perhaps this might be the case for the BMW-805, but for the BMW-804 given it still used a single stage SC and a fairly moderate rating of 2000PS, it might date from around 1942 or so. It seems it was a project more or less in the vein of DB-605, getting more power by increasing cylinder capacity of the BMW-801 with minimal changes.
