Bristol Hercules XVI engine

Does anyone by any change know of any register or database existing of Bristol Hercules XVI engines that shows which engine number was used in which exact plane?
I am looking to identify the aircraft to which a specific engine belonged to.

That's going to be virtually impossible.

Sometimes in a MACR they will list the s/n of the engine when the aircraft was shot down otherwise you would need to see the maintenance records for each individual aircraft to see which engine was installed and when as engines were changed frequently during the war, overhauled and re-installed on other aircraft.
