One of the many interesting items in the Houston area. In 1919 there was a shortage of steel. Twelve of twenty concrete ships was made. SS Selma was launched on June 28 1919, to late for the war. It was abandoned in 1922 when it it a jetty off Mexico. It was scuttled a mile off of Galveston.
