I'm planning to build this kit, http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/sh ... /index.htm but want to add a Fulmar or two, http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/mi ... eview.html.

I believe the 40ft long Fulmar would fit on Hermes' of 44 by 20 feet lift, but was the Fulmar capable of operating from Hermes? Hermes had a top speed of below 25 knots, no catapult/accelerator, and less than 500 feet of usable flight deck due to the aft round down and pointed bow. Per Wikipedia, a loaded Fulmar weighs 9,672 lb (4,387 kg), a lot more than the Swordfish at 7,580 lb (3,438 kg).

The timeline is tight, as Hermes was sunk just as the Fulmars was being deployed to Ceylon, In fact when she was already sinking fourteen Fulmars arrived, shooting down four D3A dive-bombers. So we have a potential opportunity to put some of those Fulmars onto Hermes.

Edit, here's HMS Argus with Fulmars, so I guess Hermes should work too.
