DT-28B Technical Details

I'm currently building a 1/48 T-28B but trying to modify it into a DT-28B and details on what makes these drone controllers work is scarce. Any help would be much appreciated.

Doing a quick search and found out they carried .50 calibre gun pods to shoot down wayward drones. Originally called the T-28BD until Sept. 01, 1962 when the U.S. military aircraft designation system was standardized. I'll go through my other book tomorrow
