It is the Flugzeugführer-Schule A/B 71 emblem. Formed 1 April 1938 in Breslau-Gandau as FFS E (A/B) Breslau-Gandau (from Fliegerübungsstelle Breslau-Gandau, formed Jan 1934). On 1 April 1939 became Schule/FAR.71, attached to Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 71.

She belonged to the Flugzeugführerschule A/B 23 (FFS A/B 23) in 1943 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule A 23. The main bases Kaufbeuren, Jüterbog-Damm and then again Kaufbeuren with a couple of the satellite airfields.
