Although 1 Sqn were based at Acklington, Northumberland (approx 30 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne), that airfield doesn't look like Acklington. There would be a hangar and other buildings behind the control tower in the distance (still there today, as part of a prison).
Also, the personnel appear to be USAAF, so I suspect this is in the south east of England.

Well done Airframes. Yes, Wiki strikes again. It is Martlesham Heath where 1 Squadron were based from 15 Feb44 to 3 April 1944. Flt Lt 'Moose' Mossip made a wheels-up landing after a tyre burst on take-off. He was 'on rest' and returned to his old squadron to keep his hand in - borrowing his old Typhoon with Moose emblem, and embarrassing results.
