1942 Built by Short Bros at Windermere, Cumbria as the 17th aircraft of production Lot 9, RAF serials DP176 to DP209.
Windermere White Cross Bay
28 September 1942 delivered to Pembroke Dock
1 October 1942 on charge with 119 Squadron as D
25 December 1942 first recorded operation
15 April 1943 Crashed while on patrol over Bay of Biscay. The port outer propeller flew off and hit the inner propeller which also came off. The aircraft was ditched but dug in port wing and sank in four minutes. All crew except three made it into the dinghy and were found the next day by an RAF Catalina which directed a destroyer ( HMS Wensleydale) to pick them up.
