And the F-82's were the first to go into combat, during the evacuation, when NK aircraft attacked C-54 transports. Just what they shot down is a matter of controversy, since they clearly saw that some of the enemy fighters were two seat aircraft. This has caused some to assert they were Yak-11's (two seat Yak-3 with a radial engine) but they could have been Yak-7, which were two seat fighters. By the way, this artwork looks more like a F-82B than an F-82G.
