Sorry to bring up an old thread, but a little bit about that now-defunct website that was mentioned a couple of posts back.
I wrote to that guy and he's an aeronautical engineer by trade.
Being Swedish, he was interested in the history of his country's airforce and found out about the J22.
The specs he got for his theoretical "J22C", with the 2-stage engine, were based on his very intricate and complete calculations.
I remember writing to him about the feasibility of the R-2000 engine and he said he would be happy to do the same calculations with that one, but he would require a lot of performance information that I could never find, in order to complete the calculations.
Too bad Sweden could never get ahold of a two-stage engine to put on the J22, it probably would be a better remembered airplane today.
