I have read about a handful of Gloster Gladiators in the Mediteranean Theatre that were modified to have Bristol Mercury XV engines and Hamilton Standard 3 blade variable pitch props from crashed Bristol Blenheim MkIVs. The Mercury XV had 90 (according to wiki) extra Hp than the Gladiators standard Mercury IX with 2 blade fixed pitch prop.
Does anyone have any information about increased performance, I imagine speed isnt going to increase much its still a biplane but the 3 blade variable pitch prop must have increased climb rate.
