Just thought I'd flag up you can read online or download for free for Kindle or Kobo ereaders the wartime memoirs of Don Sutherland, an RAF ground crewman. He joined up in 1938 as an engine fitter and served at RAF Gosport during the Battle of Britain including an episode digging up UXBs at the Ventnor radar station. Later he served at RAF Chivenor as a driver. If you want an insight into the life an RAF ground crewman during WW2 you should find this most enlightening.
