Hello,

I am looking for help identifying several aircraft in a short Luftwaffe clip, dated to around 1939: https://www.pond5.com/stock-footage...wii-german-luftwaffe-film-german-ju-88-bomber
The archive provider has labelled the material as Junkers Ju 88 footage, but the frames appear to show more than one type of aircraft. I would like to confirm what is actually visible.

Below are stills taken from the clip, with time codes.

TC 00:00
This looks closer to a Dornier Do 17 [thinner fuselage, often compared with a pencil]
Salvaging a rare WWII plane from the sea

TC 00:28
This appears similar to a Messerschmitt Bf 110

Harder to identify, but it does not seem to match Ju 88 features.

My questions are:

• Which of these frames, if any, show a genuine Junkers Ju 88
• Are any of the aircraft Dornier Do 17 or Messerschmitt Bf 110
• Does the cockpit interior at 00:27 match a Ju 88

For comparison, I have looked at Luftwaffe images from the Bundesarchiv, but confirmation from people familiar with silhouettes and interiors would be very helpful.

Many thanks in advance for any insight.

I agree with Airframes.

Dornier Do-17Z ...

Bf 110 ... judging by the marking on the fin it is a pre-war kite.

Ju-88 ...

regarding the cockpit ... it is not of the ju-88.

Our pleasure. :)

BTW .. IMHO the cockpit seen in the footage could be of a Dornier (possible Do-18) or a Blohm & Voss flying boat.
