I purchased this at a junk shop today hoping it would be ww2 era. Can anyone help me figure out if this is ww2 era or not and what aircraft would have used this? It has two small round red press buttons on the top accessible via your thumb. One with a white "A" and the other with a white "R". It has a deep red finger trigger on the front and I larger black handle on the side that hand rests on and slides down when you do so. It is labeled "Gunners Control Handle" mfg by "Westinghouse electric corporation U.S. Navy-Bureau of aeronautics". In searching online, i have found some kind of like it, but not exactly (ie: one red bush button on the top instead of two, etc.). Appreciate the sharing of any knowledge you might have to solve this.

Wow! You nailed it. That is exactly it. Thanks so much for your time, I really appreciate it. Post ww2 not really my main area of focus so I knew my $125 "risk" was just that, but, fascinating to learn what it really is.
