Horizontally-Opposed (Boxer) Engines?

I'm not sure what you are talking about but I do know that most GA aircraft used horizontally apposed engines. Lycoming and Continentals are designed that way. The Lycoming is a good engine, never had a problem with it. Continental, so-so. Tempermental.
 
I don't know Tim, I had good luck with Continental engines but usually find if they are not well maintained valves and cylinder heads usually go out way before TBO. I used to fly a C-150 were we ran it to over 3000 hours before we took it out of service!
