Team,
I recently purchased a wooden propeller blade from a Dutch Military School and was wondering if you could help me ID it? It is 100.5cm long and 18cm wide (about 36 inches by 7 inches). Attached are some pictures. It had some brass on it at one point but it was taken off before I got it.

I'm not an expert, but you might either try to contact the NMM at Soesterberg, or try the people on the Dutch aviation forum Nederlandse Luchtvaart - Dutch Aviation. It's a Dutch forum, but they'll understand English just fine.

Having said that, one wishful part of me read DV sketched into the metal, so could it have been from a Fokker D.5? As I said, I'm no expert, just a wild guess.

The blade shape and blade retention looks like it could be from an ""AEROMATIC" brand propeller. The blade is missing its plastic covering and metal leading edge protection.

DVM (Duitse Verenigde Metaalfabrieken) is the Dutch marking for a blade/part designed by the German company VDM (Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke). The 09 on the metal shank adaptor is the German WWII RLM (ReichsLuftfahrtMinisterium) numerical code for an aircraft part, while the -1 indicates a blade or part designed/associated with a VDM product.

I do not know if the same designation system was used to any degree after WWII.
