Identification requested of this (engine) part.

After a very good experience on this forum with identification of an aircraft part, I try again.
I have this aluminum tube from an airplane that came down in Belgium around the city of Meerhout during the Second World War.
There is a number on it but not very clear.
Hopefully the photos provide a clue.
