Hello, I am a newbie to your site and I would appreciate some help with an aircraft seat which I think is from 1935? I do not know which members of the forum to ask so I have invited the top 5 on your list. Could anyone help me to know more about the seat in particular which aircraft it came from. The base was attached in the 1960's so that it could be used as a chair. I look forward to receiving a reply. Thank you for your help.

Welcome aboard, are you sure it is a seat from an aircraft?
I am fairly sure it is an aircraft seat because it has a pocket on the back which would have held the sick bag for the passenger behind. I attach some more photos. Thank you for your help.

Military version of the DC-4 (C-54) and the Constellation both entered service in mid-1943.
Given that the colours of the fabric, and the seat frame, are original, they suggest military, rather than civilian seats. It's also possible that this type was used in C-47 /DC-3 configured for 'VIP'passenger use.

Thank you for the information.
