Thanks for the reply jbenetka. I am researching the history of a propeller we have here in Homer that was recovered from Amchitka and is likely from a WW2 wreck. It is a Hamilton-Standard 23E50-6477A-0 with 16min/88max feathering specs. The 6477A-0 is a very common blade used on many aircraft but...According to T.O. 00-25-29 (1943) the only aircraft that use this prop with those pitch specs were the C-47, C-47A, C-53, and C-53D. I think that the later models (C-47B, C, D) may also have used the prop but are not included in the T.O. because it predated their production. That's why I asked if their was a later issue of 0-25-29 or perhaps another Tech Order replaced it.
BTW I haven't found any evidence of C-53 crashes on Amchitka so am focusing on the C-47. I am aware that early models of the C-47 used the 6353A-18 propellers but am guessing they were replaced by the 6477A-0, most likely on the C-47A and after. Hope you can shed some light on this issue!
